"Arrived 30 minutes before my class 6 test. The examiner strolled past me and told me to go and find her after the adminIstrative part was completed. The front desk person completed the paperwork and told me to wait at the window. I told her that I was told to go and find the examiner at her vehicle. She said no the examiner needs to come in and get my licence etc in the back of the office. After 10 minutes I asked if I could please go out and let the examiner know. I said that she is sitting in her car and does not look very happy. Front desk agreed to let me go out and tell the examiner that she should go back in to fetch my documents. I then went out and told her that the lady at the front desk told me that she needs to go back into the registry and fetch the documents she needed to complete the test. I was then told by the examiner that no I have to go back and get it....how awkward to get stuck between two registry employees. I then went back and relayed the message. The lady went to the back of the office to fetch my licence etc and I returned it to the examiner a bit shocked at the way I was spoken to and the overall disrespect. All through the interaction with the staff I remained very friendly and respectful, but in retrospect I should have canceled the test and called a manager. I then continued with the test and ended up failing because I was going under the speed limit in a residential area. You have to ride according to the conditions and if I had to do the test again I will do the exact same thing. Our community lost a child because someone was going too fast in our neighbourhood and this is one thing I will not compromise on.......under any circumstances. I am also very supportive of dropping the speed limit within residential areas for a number of reasons but that is another discussion. I decided to go through the channels to lodge a complaint regarding the staff and in particular the examiners behaviour and what I discovered was extremely concerning. I received a response and it basically said three things: 1. no refund, 2. all results are final and 3. even if they decide to address unacceptable behaviour you will not be kept in the loop. In discussions with a number of people that have tested at this as well as other registries a couple of things stand out. 1. there are no consistency when it comes to testing, a person can be failed for putting both feet down on a motorcycle and then passed the next time even though they ( after asking about it) do the same thing in a subsequent test. You will also find that some people will be failed for, as in my case, for going too slow in a residential area and in other cases not 2. test results can depend on the mood of the examiner 3. they are given parameters based on age, race, sex etc and will be reprimanded if these limits are crossed leaving the potential for adjusting numbers to avoid this 4. there are no acceptable oversight and no acceptable level of accountability."

"I waited at most 20 minutes in line; only 2 clients ahead of me at 5:40pm on a Wednesday and close to month end. They were quick and easy to process two transactions; sticker renewal and Driver's License. Stephanie helped me today, she was helpful, polite, pleasant and clear in asking questions and advising me on payment options. I do not recommend leaving your task to the last days of the month, as this place is busy. They were mindful of the keeping the clients safe in these covid times, wiping the workstation down after each client and marking the line-up with safe distancing orange cones. I would recommend this Registry. Their hours of operation are very convenient."

"I was leery on going here because of the bad reviews but was pleasantly surprised. I made 3 trips over 3 weeks (1 - Out of province licence & paperwork for a vehicle inspection, 2 - register vehicle after inspection and 3 - to swap out my regular plate for the troops one yesterday). I dealt with a different person each time and they were all nice and helpful. The second time I was there someone was having a bit of a fit about tickets and was pretty rude to the young lady as if she was the one who had given him the multiple photo radar speeding tickets. She remained calm and was nice to deal with when I got to her window. There was a long line outside of the office one time I went so I just returned after dinner and only waited a few minutes to be served."

"Passed my class 6 road test here. Waited in line to get my license upgraded, only to be told they are unable to since the "examiner number" for my digital knowledge test was blank. They refused to help at all, and showed me the door. Since I didn't technically have my class 6, I had to get my friend to come all the way back to crowfoot and take me to another registry. At the other registry I was told the examiner number did not need to be filled in. Got my license with no issue at that registry. Not only is this bad service, it's incompetence. If you pass your road test here go take a nice ride to the next closest registry."
