Knowledge tests for all license classes are offered in all DriveTest Centres. Knowledge tests are written tests that determine whether you have a good understanding of the rules of the road and traffic signs. They consist of multiple-choice questions based on the official driver\'s handbooks.

Road tests (for cars/vans/small trucks; motorcycles; and commercial vehicles) assess your driving skills according to MTO criteria. A road test involves driving your own vehicle with a driver examiner as an observer.

"The worst centre to take driving test, majorly because of route option and strict instructors. I took G2 test and the problem is they take you to a 3 lane road and you have to switch lanes and even you have changed lanes safely the instructors will cut your points because some car may be near; however, there always is a car, they are least concerned if you have made a safe lane change. Further, the parallel parking is between 2 poles and since we practice between 2 cars, your car may be slightly far (may be half feet) they will again deduct your points. So overall they keep on deducting points inspite of you giving decent test. The only thing is you can't master all rules of Canada if you are learning by paying instructors by hours, instructors know this and hence their strict dedication of points will make you fail your test."

"The staff at DriveTest was at their best and were helping out each one of us to their best capabilities considering the current scenario. The staff was extremely helpful and each one of us were requested by them to maintain the social distancing norm. The staff working at the counters were also efficient and quick to deal and finish the job requested from them. I’ve moved from Australia and was not disappointed, rather happy with what I experienced. 👍🏼"

"Got there at 530am.. 5 ppl in line.. they opened at 6am, the lady monitoring the line was very pleasant and helpful. Answered all our questions and kept the line moving. They are only supposed to allow the applicant in.. so send the payment method with the applicant. G1 test was done in 15mins cost was 150$ and includes G1 road test. If you require glasses the test cost 170$. Be prepared to take a photo."
