Knowledge tests for all licence classes are offered in all DriveTest Centres. Knowledge tests are written tests that determine whether you have a good understanding of the rules of the road and traffic signs. They consist of multiple-choice questions based on the official drivers handbooks.

Road tests (for cars/vans/small trucks; motorcycles; and commercial vehicles) assess your driving skills according to MTO criteria. A road test involves driving your own vehicle with a driver examiner as an observer.

"Was a wonderful experience. Gave my G test - everybody was so polite. The evaluator was a lady named Melissa - hope I got the name right. She was so understanding and was very precise in her instructions. I even made a mistake for which she told not to worry and relax. I think she is the best human and I pray that her life is full of joy. I just got lucky to get this location. After my prior booking at St.Catherine’s got cancelled automatically just 3 hours before the drivetest without a reason - I got this location for the very next day. Phew. Everything happens for good."

"Very long lines after reopening. The experience was smooth. Today (Saturday) I went to do the G1 written test and I will share what to expect. Here is what it was like today: I got there at 7am, there were about 50 people in front. The center opened at 8:30am. I made it inside to the counter at 9:30am. I was given a time, 11am to come back to write the G1 test after going to the counter, as a limited amount of people were allowed to be in the test room at once. I came back 10 minutes before at 10:50am and had to wait 25 minutes to go into the test room. The line up for the written tests were on the right side of the entrance (the line up for the counters were on the left side of the entrance). The tests were taken on a computer with a touchscreen display and had a stylus attached which you could use. The test will give instant feedback on if you got a answer correct or not. Got everything done at 11:50am. The G1 test was really easy. I suggest doing some practice tests online as the questions on the actual test are very, very similar to those practice tests."

"I’ve never had a good experience at this Centre. Every person has been rude. I took a test here today and was immediately left uncomfortable by the fact that the tester kept sniffling beside. During these pandemic times that’s so not okay. Then he proceeded to yell at me on the Highway because I was going 95 (not fast enough he said). This really threw me off my game. Have these testers never realized they’d be much more affective if they said all these things calmly? At the lights before turning into the centre he asked me to change lanes, giving me very little time to do so. I was almost about to change lanes when I noticed a car too close. But before I could even do anything he started yelling again. I knew I failed and I know this was a big mistake that I take full responsibility for but I just wish the tester was a) Healthy and b) Calm. Now I have to wait until January to this all over again and I wish I could do it somewhere else but it’s not really an option."

"Went in to get my G2 today and my nerves were shot. You are SO LUCKY if your driving instructor is Nash. He was so helpful with calming me down. He was very friendly, professional and overall a great guy to get as a driving instructor. Also, for anyone who booked a test i would recommend coming earlier than the required 30 minutes, simply because its a busy place and its better to be early than late!"
