Knowledge tests for all licence classes are offered in all DriveTest Centres. Knowledge tests are written tests that determine whether you have a good understanding of the rules of the road and traffic signs. They consist of multiple-choice questions based on the official drivers handbooks.

Road tests (for cars/vans/small trucks; motorcycles; and commercial vehicles) assess your driving skills according to MTO criteria. A road test involves driving your own vehicle with a driver examiner as an observer.

"Hope it will help you 1. If you come for road test, wait in the left line; written examination wait in the right line; any other questions or requirements wait in the middle of these two lines! 2. For road test, I suggest you park your car at waiting test parking spots 30 minutes before your test(remember your parking spot number), there is a lady will give you a instruction ticket and ask you go inside answer some questions in the ipad, in the end you will get your test number ticket, then back your car and wear mask while you are waiting! 3. For written examination, it seems like they only allowed two people at one time, so come early otherwise you gonna wait for a while! They did excellent job for protecting their employees and us, good luck everyone!"

"Others have remarked on the long wait time. Those who manage to get in the door at all can count on comically slow service, as if calculated to encourage them to leave in frustration. Worst of all is that people will be allowed to join the line outside even when there is no hope of their getting services that day. Either move to an appointment system and offer only as many appointments a day as it is possible to process clients, or at least have the honesty to turn people away if they can't be served that day, and waste no more of their time than absolutely necessary."

"Covid Changes: 1. No seating or waiting inside even if its pouring outside. You can use the restrooms though. 2. When you go for Road test make sure everyone inside the car wears a mask. If the instructor sees anyone inside the car without mask that car cannot be used for road test for the next 20 minutes or so. 3. All waiting has to be outside, so prepare accordingly."
