Knowledge tests for all licence classes are offered in all DriveTest Centres. Knowledge tests are written tests that determine whether you have a good understanding of the rules of the road and traffic signs. They consist of multiple-choice questions based on the official drivers handbooks.

Road tests (for cars/vans/small trucks; motorcycles; and commercial vehicles) assess your driving skills according to MTO criteria. A road test involves driving your own vehicle with a driver examiner as an observer.

"Website showed all DriveTest sites were open. Notice on the window and the door indicates they have been closed the last 7 weeks. Can't give an accurate assessment of how genial the staff was because they have been furloughed long before. 1 Star because the provincial government chooses to farm out services and has seemingly no idea how to indicate that the services are not available online a quarter century after the internet was a thing. Update: thankfully, a phone call in to inquire about services and a mention the website had no indication of all sites being closed caused a prominent update showing they ARE closed. Now awaiting their reopening to actually get service."

"My drive test instructor called in sick the day of my road test so I had to rebook which was an entire month later. The "manager" at the front desk with short white hair was the most rude snarky person I have ever dealt with. People like her should not have jobs working with the public. It is worth the extra drive to go to another DriveTest centre!!!"

"I passed my G driving test at this location. The front desk lady was nice and there was not a long waiting time. The automatic check in was fast and easy as well. Right at the beginning, I had a problem with my car, but my lady examiner was very patient, and she gave me some time to see what was wrong. Luckily, nothing serious was wrong with the car, and we proceeded as planed. She was very respectful and courteous, from the beginning to the end of the examination. Her instructions were very clear, and overall, she was a professional. The most important thing is (I am not trying to be smart) to really practice your driving. I had some smaller mistakes, sure, but that is ok. Do not rush into the driving test. You can learn the rules and signs in a few days, but you need the time to practice and build your confidence and driving experience. Once you have all that, the examiner you get, and the route he/she takes you to is not important. Good luck with your test!"
