Knowledge tests for all licence classes are offered in all DriveTest Centres. Knowledge tests are written tests that determine whether you have a good understanding of the rules of the road and traffic signs. They consist of multiple-choice questions based on the official drivers handbooks.

Road tests (for cars/vans/small trucks; motorcycles; and commercial vehicles) assess your driving skills according to MTO criteria. A road test involves driving your own vehicle with a driver examiner as an observer.

Review & Ratting

"After reading all the reviews, I was REALLY scared about my G2 test and whether my examiner was gonna let me pass or not (because previously people said they fail you to get money out of you), but my personal experience was great. My examiner, his name was Justin, he was so nice. Although I was really nervous, I felt okay during my test with him as my examiner. He was super clear, concise, and polite the whole time. Oh and I passed my test by the way hehe ;)"

"Today went with my son to write his G1 test. There was an East Indian man who works there that was absolutely rude and needs to be taught how to provide good customer service. He was extremely rude and in my face when I was trying to ask him a question. All he kept saying to me that I'm not allowed in there and that he was doing a favor by letting me use the washroom while my son was registering to write the G1 test. My son was at the counter and I had just came out of the washroom when this happened. My son didn't know the postal code for our place and was trying to ask me what it was. He literally got into my face and told me that I couldn't talk to my son. Another employee had to come and diffuse the situation. It was a very simple explanation of why during COVID restrictions why they didn't want the parents in the place. BUT there should be some leeway about something as simple as giving my son the postal code. I have to describe him by his ethnicity because when I tried to get his name from his hanging name badge he covered it up with his hand. This guy was literally yelling at me. I will be lodging a formal complaint. If you work with the public, it's your duty to be polite and professional at all times instead of escalating and raising your voice."

"Rude staff. Here is my experience. I was one of the first 4 people that came really early in the morning. The 3 people came before me told me to check in with kiosk machine. When I entered, a staff told me, "Don't you see the line? You can not just come in". I told him that I would like to check in like the people before me and then I would go out to line up just like others. The staff did not listen to me and said, "There is a line, any sensible person would wait in line". I tried to explain to him that the 4 people in front of me told me I needed to check in. He replied, "Do they work here?".I walked out to wait in line. Not even 3 steps out the door, another staff waved at me and asked me the reason I was here and checked me in. In conclusion, there is staff who like to be extremely rude for no reason instead of being helpful."

"Service was quick, we were told to come later for less wait which was very helpful. Employees were polite, fast, and provided attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure everything is right. Manager Karen was quick to help as well."

"The lady with the blond hair was super nice, felt like i was just cruising around with a friend. I drove a 20 foot long work van and she was understanding about making a 4 point turn."
